Piedmont Park is easily one of the most popular engagement session locations in Atlanta, and for good reason. With sweeping city skyline views, serene green spaces, and endless backdrops for romantic portraits, it’s no surprise that so many couples choose this iconic spot for their photos.
For Sasha and Nick, their engagement session was timed perfectly with the beauty of the approaching fall. A rainy afternoon threatened to interrupt our plans, but just as we arrived, the skies cleared. The fresh, rain-kissed atmosphere gave us the most beautiful light to begin their session.
Sasha and Nick’s love story started in the most modern-romantic way, at a young professionals mixer. As Sasha recalls:
“My girlfriends and I were walking to our car and he came right up to me, told me I was beautiful, and asked for my umber. I’m sure there was a corny pick up line or two in there too. ;)”
That bold move turned into a relationship full of laughter, connection, and, eventually, a proposal Sasha will never forget.
Nick orchestrated a picnic with his family at the park. Sasha thought it was just a casual family gathering, but it turned into a moment straight out of a movie.
As friends and family appeared “parade style” with WILL YOU MARRY ME signs, Sasha ugly-cried tears of joy while Nick dropped to one knee. With both of their families present to celebrate, she said yes, making it one of those “best day ever” memories they’ll cherish forever.
On the day of their session, Sasha and Nick wanted a natural, date-night vibe with earthy tones.
Sasha’s Look: An olive corduroy skort paired with a cream high-neck bell-sleeved bodysuit and brown booties.
Nick’s Look: A mustard sweater with dark jeans and brown boots.
The combination popped beautifully against the fall foliage and muted post-rain colors of Piedmont Park. Together, they struck the perfect balance between casual and stylish, a look they’d wear on a real date night.
Their energy was infectious. Even though Sasha admitted she was nervous about being in front of the camera, both she and Nick quickly settled in. They laughed, leaned into each other, and trusted us completely.
Sasha and Nick mentioned why they chose this location:
“We chose Piedmont Park because of the combination of greenery and urban city skyline vibes.”
That’s exactly what makes this park such a popular choice for Atlanta engagement sessions. From the romantic wooded trails to wide open lawns with skyline views, couples get the best of both worlds-nature and the city, without leaving Midtown.
The rain might have tried to dampen spirits, but it only made their story more memorable. By the time we wrapped up, Sasha and Nick were glowing from the inside out. Sasha later told us:
“OMG! Orlando and Lissette are a dream team…When we arried it was raining which completely bummed me out. However, as soon as it stopped, these two jumped into action and made the very best of a soggy situation. They went above and beyond. My fiancé, who initially wasn’t too pleased to be missing Sunday football, left saying how great of a time he had–and I think that alone speaks for itself (haha)!”
That’s the kind of experience we want every couple to have during their engagement session, relaxed, fun, and authentic.
Fall engagement sessions at Piedmont Park will always be a favorite. It’s no wonder so many couples choose this Atlanta landmark to document this special season of their love story. For Sasha and Nick, the park offered the perfect blend of romance, style, and skyline views, with the added bonus of a cleared-up rainy afternoon. If you’re newly engaged and searching for the perfect Atlanta engagement session location, Piedmont Park is a timeless choice.
