Marietta Square Courthouse Elopement

A Beautiful Summer Day in Marietta Square

Some wedding days are filled with grand ballrooms and hundreds of guests. Others are beautifully simple, focused entirely on the two people beginning their next chapter together. Laurel and Dustin’s Marietta Square courthouse elopement was exactly that, a relaxed, meaningful celebration surrounded by the charm and character of one of Georgia’s most beloved historic downtowns.

On a warm summer afternoon, Laurel and Dustin exchanged vows at the courthouse before stepping out into Marietta Square to celebrate their marriage with portraits that reflected their personalities and the joy of the day.

One of the things we love most about photographing elopements at Marietta Square is the incredible variety of locations available within a short walking distance. From historic architecture to colorful murals and hidden urban corners, every turn offers something unique.

Exploring Marietta Square

We began our portrait session strolling through the heart of the square, taking advantage of the beautiful historic surroundings and vibrant energy of the area. The iconic Strand Theatre provided a timeless backdrop that perfectly complemented the excitement of the newlyweds. Nearby murals added a playful and artistic touch, creating images that felt both modern and personal.

As we continued exploring, we made our way to Glover Park, where one of the most unexpected and memorable stops of the afternoon became the playground train station. Laurel and Dustin embraced the fun and spontaneity of the moment, allowing us to create photographs that captured not only how their day looked, but how it felt. These private moments often become some of our favorites because they reflect the genuine connection and joy shared between the couple.

The historic iron fountain and charming gazebo offered additional opportunities for romantic portraits. Much like our engagement sessions, these quieter moments allowed Laurel and Dustin to simply enjoy being together while we documented their connection.

Creative Wedding Photos in Downtown Marietta

As the session neared its end, we ventured in the nearby parking garage for a completely different look. While it may seem an unconventional location, garages often provide clean architectural lines, dramatic light, and creative possibilities that help produce distinctive images. The contrast between the historic charm of Marietta Square and the modern urban feel of the garage added variety to their gallery and allowed us to finish the session with a collection of photographs that felt uniquely theirs.
