Blue Ties Luncheon at the Ritz Carolton Buckhead

In September I had the opportunity to photograph for Modern Luxury the Fifth Annual Blue Ties Luncheon benefiting ProstAware, a Georgia 501(c)3 organization solely dedicated to educating men at risk for prostate cancer.

Most men who haven’t had prostate cancer may not understand just how much they are at risk. By tapping into the fun and wonfer of music and new technology, ProstAware aims to change that to raise both awareness and involvement in educating others.

Jerry Carnes, from 11Alive WXIA-TV was the Emcee for the afternoon.

The Atlantan Re-Design Launch

At some point, everything needs a little retouch—including our fabulous magazine. The Atlantan hosted a cocktail party at ADAC to celebrate its new makeover. The re-design coiree co=hosted by Dr. Julian Gordon of Plastikos Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery featured Glorious Events’ delectable catering passed on platters covered with old photos from the magazine. Guests sipped on Russian Standard vodka and Stella Artois, while Cooper Pianos hosted a pianist who provided entertainment throughout the nights. With goodie bags on their arms, attendees perused Jim Ellis’ stunning Audis while waiting at valet — Ruthie Sidell

50th Gala Celebration l’Alliance Française d’Atlanta

Fifty years ago — in the fall of 1963 — with her friend Jean Lardon, Nora Saporta co-founded the Ecole de l’Alliance Française d’Atlanta with a $75 budget. They bought 10 classroom chairs at $1 a piece, a blackboard and a few textbooks. Air France donated a used desk and three armchairs. The school started with 35 students divided into four classes. On September 29, l’Alliance Française d’Atlanta celebrated this momentous occasion at the beautiful 3109 Piedmont Estate and Garden. The event featured live music, dancing and an exquisite selection of French gastronomy and wine.

Buckhead Bridals by Guffey’s | Anne Barge Trunk Show

In 2013 we started working with Modern Luxury as freelance photographers covering events for them from time to time. We are so thrilled to be collaborating on so many different types of events for their four different publications featured in metro Atlanta (Modern Luxury Brides Atlanta, The Atlantan, Jezebel and Men’s Book. First up was the assignment to cover the Anne Barge Trunk Show at Buckhead Bridals by Guffey on August 10. Many brides from around Atlanta and beyond got up bright and early on this particular Saturday in the hopes of finding their dream Anne Barge gown at prices unheard of.
