This baby shower was the event to be at for those that know Jonathan and Vicky and for it to be featured on Occasions Magazine makes me happy. You can take a look at the party here. To go view the feature on Occasions, click here.
It’s an honor for our work to be featured in local and national magazines and this maternity session is no exception. We had a wonderful time photographing Vicky and Jonathan’s maternity session last Spring with the beautiful Gibbs Gardens as our backdrop. To see more from that gorgeous session, click here to be taken to the blog post.
Take a look here to view our feature on The Indie Tot magazine or ezine (for electronic magazine) as they like to refer to it.
One of the highlights of shooting for a major magazine is the opportunity for covering unique events. The Jeffrey Fashion Cares show in Atlanta was a perfect example of this. An upscale fashion show with hundreds in attendance to help support the Susan G Komen Foundation among other charities. Nights like these provide an excellent opportunity to interact with guests and photograph in a fast-paced environment which in turn keeps enhancing the creativity we can overlay into our wedding photography. Here are just some quick images captured that evening.

Memphis, Tennessee was the setting for this beautiful Indian celebration. A three day event filled with lots of color across various ceremonies. Vaishnavi and Manuu were an absolute pleasure to work with. A thoughtful and engaging couple with a wonderful future ahead of them. Many images were generated throughout this multiple day event, but here are some highlights. Special thanks to Sainath Kamath for this opportunity!
Sometimes it is hard deciding on what clothes to invest in for the upcoming months. To help assure that your wardrobe update is in check with the latest trends, here is a fashion forecast for the next few months.
As many may already be aware, military inspired outfits are seeping into the retail world. This includes anything from camouflage leggings to combat boots. And that murky green that works well with gold. This style is one that will be around for a while, so it would be safe to invest in any army styled apparel!
Another trend we’ve seen around for a while and will continue is layering. During winter months especially, it’s so much fun to have a million different pieces that can be put together in a million different ways! Layers can be anything from a sweater with a collar poking out, to a fashionable coat with plaid showing from underneath. And even a layer under that plaid is very cool right now. Layers are great for mixing and matching clothes in many different ways, allowing you to wear them more often and get much more mileage out of them.
The last forecast we are sharing is hats. So many vendors have come out with affordable and stylish hats this year, it’s impossible to skip out on the great finds! No matter what season or where you live, there is a hat suitable for you and your style. Floppy hats on the beach, or vintage bowler hats in the winter! They jazz up your wardrobe, and are a quick fix to any bad hair day.
Are professional prints really better? Why can’t you just print all your professional pictures at the local grocery store? This is a great question and one that we hear quite often. So what’s the big deal about getting prints from a professional lab? Well, here are a few reasons why professional prints are better.
1. Better skin tones. The look of skin tones on your images is very important to the picture. We’ve found that many times images printed on lower quality machines can make the skin look either too orange-y or too ash-y. However, when you’re getting your images from a professional lab, your skin tones will look exactly like the photographer edited them. Healthy, alive and real! This is because the professional labs calibrate their machines multiple times per day to make sure the colors are just right. Other printers don’t.
2. Better paper. When ordering professional prints, the paper your images are printed on is a much higher quality paper and professional labs do everything they can to get the most color out of the paper they can. This results in more vibrant true colors in your prints.
3. More options. Most printers that can be found at grocery stores will only have one type of paper and a few sizes to choose from. However, when working with a professional, you will find that if you choose, you can print your image on many different types of papers and get some very large sizes like the 36” x 48”.
