Stone MountainPark is usually crawling with tourists and locals on a spring afternoon. However, with rain in the forecast the park was surprisingly empty as we decided to move forward and meet up with Emily and Jimmy for their long-awaited engagement photo session.
With 3200 acres of scenic views, a colorful shopping and dining village, a covered bridge, a historic old mill and of course, the mountain; this is one of the best locations for an engagement shoot in Atlanta. Not to mention a great place for wedding photography overall.
We had already spent some time getting to know this couple before today’s session and it was clear from the start, they had an unbreakable connection. How they met is an interesting story.
Jimmy messaged Emily on eharmony.com and she agreed to meet up for a coffee date. They immediately hit if off. She laughed at all his stories and Jimmy was simply thankful to have met a southern gal. Later that day when Jimmy got back home; he changed his eharmony profile and never looked back. They dated for several weeks before officially becoming a couple and the rest is history. We hope you enjoy this spring engagement session in Atlanta, Georgia. Yesterday we had an amazing time with Sean and Laura visiting the Big Creek Greenway in Alpharetta for their engagement session. Here’s a quick sneak peek of what’s to come.
Oh my…what a weekend we had! We just had to share a little sneak peek to this amazing couple’s wedding. Maybe you remember Alex+Yaqui’s engagement from a few months ago at Piedmont Park. Take a look below to see how their love continues to blossom. Can’t wait to show the full blog post soon.
Love comes together from all angles to make the greatest combinations. A perfect example of this can be found with Mark and Kim. He’s from Jersey; she’s from the Bahamas. He’s an avid fisherman and she loves to work with numbers. Nonetheless they unite to become one of the most caring, fun-loving couples around. Nowhere was this more evident than on their wedding day. An easy-going outdoor ceremony with laughs layered all throughout. Their happiness is ever so evident on a variety of bridal portraits across multiple settings within the Callanwolde Fine Arts grounds. Even though we’ve photographed multiple weddings and events here; never have we been able to make such extensive use of this gorgeous venue on one occasion, covering both the inside and outside spaces of the property. It’s a testament to the value they place on photography. So many thanks to this wonderful couple for such a great experience.
Winter finally let up in Atlanta just in time for one gorgeous Sunday afternoon. After dodging rain for several weeks, the sun broke thru for Jay + Ida. Here are just a few images from a great afternoon at the park. Congratulations on your engagement!
Through the past few years we’ve had the opportunity to cover multiple weddings across various locations. Traveling has always been a passion for us. This past Spring we enjoyed covering a beautiful island wedding in Jamaica and we always had our sights on going to Europe at some point to photograph a couple there. However, little did we ever expect to be commissioned for a wedding in India. Nonetheless that’s exactly what happened. Many of you may remember Reet+Julie from last Spring’s engagement session. A truly wonderful couple, with a great love for the outdoors. It just so happens we were extended the privilege of covering their wedding in Chandigarh, India. Words are hard to come by when describing how incredible this experience was for us. Talk about seeing life in a whole new light!
Therefore before we move any further, we want to send our sincere thanks to the Singh and Knoll families for placing their confidence and trust in us and bringing us halfway across the world to cover their special occasion. We will always be grateful for this opportunity!
In total we spent 8 days in India. The first 4 days gave us the opportunity to ride along with the bride and groom as they led a group of friends and family across the country for a tour of some of the main sights. The last 4 days were set aside for all the wedding ceremonies and festivities. As I’m sure everyone can imagine, a trip of this length and magnitude generates so many images. In order to illustrate this week-long event properly we’re going to break up this wedding into 3 separate blog posts.
Today’s post will focus on all the pre-wedding travel. This includes a safari in the National Chambal Valley Sanctuary, home to the highly endangered freshwater Gharial Dolphin and Marsh Crocodiles. Then a visit to the city of Agra and the Taj Mahal; along with a stop at the Old Agra Fort. Afterwards we make our way up through New Delhi in route to Chandigarh. In between we get to see the beauty of everyday life in India. From the humble street markets where children handle full grown cobras for extra change to the magenta-orange sunsets over temples to water buffaloes and cows running freely in highway traffic. It’s never a dull moment, it’s authentic and it’s precious in its own way. Hopefully you’ll get a feel for life in India with some of these images.
Please stay tuned for more blog posts featuring all the pre-wedding ceremonies and the wedding itself!
The Roswell Mill is a favorite amongst couples for engagement session for a good reason. With so many scenic views easily accessible, it’s hard to beat the variety of options available for a photo shoot. So this easily became the choice for our setting. On this afternoon we had the pleasure of working with Travis and Lisa. These young professionals from Woodstock have an easy going style that makes them a pleasure to photograph; and better yet, such great company. Many thanks to them for indulging these photo geeks and our adventurous requests!

This post is long overdue. In June of 2013, we had the honor and privilege of meeting up with Ellen and Scott at their home for their engagement session. I’ve known Ellen for quite some time. She and I worked together for years and always kept in touch after we both left our jobs. She is a talented graphic designer and currently owns her own studio SeeMeDesign. If you’re ever in need of a truly creative designer, look no further, she’s your gal. I met Scott thru our breakfast get togethers as she always talked about him. I got to personally meet him on this day. He is quite a guy.
This family is so cute. Now you ask… why did I say family? Well we need to introduce you all to Bradley, a Chihuahua mix they adopted a couple of years ago. Ellen mentioned that Bradley is not really comfortable around strangers but I assured her he would be just fine. She even said they took him to a pet photographer earlier in the year and there wasn’t a single image they could take from the session. Just to keep her mind at ease, we opted to take Bradley to one of his usual spots for his walks—a place he was familiar with and could roam free and be comfortable in his own environment. Well that did it. He was a perfect little gentle dog. We all enjoyed having him around and by the looks of his closeups, he thought the same. I was in love with that devilish smile of his.
The light was perfect that humid afternoon. We’ve been having quite a summer with storms rolling in at any given time but that didn’t stop us from making magic. Ellen you are beautiful and Scott you’re not half bad yourself.
Stop it Ellen. You look amazing.
Bradley pretty much wanted this session all to himself. He was so much fun to photograph. He has a personality all of his own.
After we dropped off Bradley at home, we took a trip to the new Atlanta BeltlLine. The Atlanta BeltLine uses an existing 22-mile historic railway that circles the City. Pedestrian friendly rail transit and 33 miles of multi-use trails will follow this corridor and branch off from it. Once completed, the Atlanta BeltLine will bring together 45 in-town neighborhoods and link them to the entire metropolitan Atlanta region.
Congratulations Scott and Ellen. Your wedding at the Old Edwards Inn was truly spectacular.

Few venues in the south are as unique as Barnsley Gardens. The golf resort on the grounds of a historic former plantation in Adairsville was the setting for Matt and Bridget’s summer wedding. Barnsley’s beautiful
I’m so happy to be able to present to you the beautiful and enchanting Vicky. She called me a few months back inquiring about a maternity session for her first baby.
